About Us

Bakers originally began trading in 1973 in East London as a self adhesive roll label supplier.

The brainchild of Marion & Roy Baker, working from a caravan in Kings Cross they set up a business which is today; still growing and thriving.

Growing up with labels, Marion & Roy’s son Steve was a natural successor to run the business.  Steve has been around labels since he was 14 years old, he knows the business inside out.  Recognising the need for ready-to-print materials for the roll label market, Steve developed Baker Materials.   Always an integral part of the business, Steve made the decision to not only purchase materials required for his own trade label business but also to stock and sell materials to other roll label printers.

As the materials division grew, 1997 saw the first agreement struck with Fasson allowing Bakers to become an official distributor & stockist.  We now stock a comprehensive list of products including:

  • Arjobex
  • Polyart
  • Du Pont
  • Tyvek®
  • 3M
  • Lintec Graphic Films (Madico)
  • Memjet
  • HP Indigo Primes

Baker Materials moved into its own self-contained storage and conversion facility in 2004 before relocating in 2011 the new premises in Brentwood; custom built for the business.

2013 saw Bakers celebrate its 40th Anniversary.

Bakers is now the leading independent distributor of self-adhesive & non self-adhesive materials in the UK. Offering a comprehensive range of both branded & non-branded label products.

A “one-stop shop” for the roll label printer, supplying  customers throughout the UK & Ireland, Europe and the Middle East.
